PLATS
A plat is a parcel of land that has been divided into lots, blocks, streets, etc. Most of the developed areas
and cemeteries in Sedgwick County have been platted, however not all land in Sedgwick County is platted.
The 8,000 + plat files vary in size between 10,000 bytes (10K) and 26 megabytes.
Download Instructions:
Step 1:
Search for plat by drawer letter.
The Drawer letter and number is the method the Register of Deeds uses to file and store plats.
Drawer Example:
Enter the Drawer letter(s). Plats are returned sorted by drawer with the Addition names listed in the left column.
Entering 'c' in the query by Drawer will return all plats kept in the Register of Deeds drawers beginning with 'c'.
It will not return subdivision names starting with 'c.' Use the 'Subdivision' query to search for Plats with
names starting with the letter 'c'.
Platted cemeteries can be found by entering the letters 'cem' since they are all filed together in this drawer.
Step 2:
Select plat.
From the list titled subdivision names, find the desired plat and click on the corresponding drawer number (highlighted in blue).
Step 3:
Select download method.
You now have the option of opening this file from its current location or saving it to disk.
